Encore Adulthood.

Don't you just love that word? 

What comes to mind when you hear it?

I discovered it while doing research for my new keynote talk on how to navigate midlife in a positive way. Actually, I prefer to call it the third quarter, as I hope all of you will also have a fourth one in your life. What if we looked at this life stage as a moment of growth?

The third quarter comes with plenty of dilemmas. My head and heart have been filled with those since I turned 50 about 3 years ago. On certain days, it drove me close to crazy.

Until I realised that the third quarter is also full of options.

More time, experience and wisdom means more opportunities.

But only if you open your eyes to look at them.

To open your fixed mindset to a growth mindset.

Think about it.

You have tons of more experience and wisdom then you did in your first quarter.

You learned about life, relationships and by now, you know what's truly important to you.

Some even call this life stage the 'fuck you' period.

It's time you become intentional about what you want in your third quarter.

What if the millions of people over 50 would fully use their experience and wisdom gathered in their first and second quarter to the benefit of those around them? At work and at home? 

The first 15 years of your career, you explore, work hard and learn a lot.

The next 15 years of your career you grow and take on more responsibility.

But what about the last 15 years of your career?

What could your 'Encore Adulthood' look like? 

Put the question on the table at your next get together with friends.

Talking about it opens opportunties.

Why navigate this life stage alone when you can do it together?

Third Quarter. Sometimes it rocks, sometimes it sucks.

And that's just fine.
