What do you think a book with the title 'Peak' is about? How to climb a mountain? How to peak in your life and career? How to develop your full potential?

This book by Patricia & Don Edgar is all of the above.

Reading it in the mountains, a few days before we leave on a 5 day hiking tour of the Mont Blanc, this book brought so many smiles to my face.

Written by two sociologists, this book is a mix of common perceptions & beliefs about middle age and real life stories of people that have taken many turns in their lifespan.

In the first part of the book, the concept of "longevity' is illustrated, with more and more people living longer and healthier lives. It will change society in a profound way. What struck me is how the perception of midlife is still based on 50 year old concepts, and the reality of it is very different because of healthier lifestyles, changing family relationships and many of us focused on lifelong learning and exploring.

That's exactly the reason we started this Third Quarter community. To change the narrative and help you navigate midlife in a positive way.

In Europe, almost 100 million people are aged between 50 and 75. This is not a minority, it's a huge source of energy, wisdom and experience. What if we untapped all that potential?

Of course there are challenges, but there are also many opportunities in Longevity .

In the second part of the book, 10 people share their own personal story of living longer happy lives. All the stories of these 'reinventors' have one thing in common. They go through life turns and upheavals like any of us. Yet, they go beyond the difficult times and keep on starting new projects at any age. They poor energy into people and projects they believe in. Because they felt like it. Because it gave them meaning. Because it helped people around them.

Your age does not define who you are. Your energy does.

If you are in your third quarter, now is the time to start reinventing how you want to live it.

Like the reinventors in this book, it's up to you to decide and make the choices that feel good to you. Asking the right questions and talking about it with others can help.

That's what we do at our Midlife Growth Track, 3 online sessions to find your answers.

The next series start this fall. Book one of the 10 seats here.

Stay tuned for more midlife hacks to navigate your third quarter in a positive way.
